I managed to get some time to get on with this blog today so though I’d integrate the categories in to the main menu. Being a little while since I have created any front end web interfaces so designing the navigation to the same spec as the image in my head was taxing. I wanted two horizontal unordered lists, one with the weblog names as the menu items for the main navigation, the second to be built with categories specific to each weblog. Trying to get this to work in all browsers has been troublesome and I’ve spent too much time on it today so I’ll sort that out properly (for IE, not sure about Safari yet) at a later date.

I’m trying to keep these posts short at the moment so I can keep the time for designing the structure and backend of the site, so I’ll end here. Once I’ve ironed out the next stage I’ll write more about how I built the JavaScript/non-JavaScript integration to make sure all users can use the site.
